Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:
 
Our client is currently managing highways and infrastructure projects in the Taunton and Bristol areas, with the potential to transition into schemes across other sectors, ensuring long-term opportunities. This role is outside IR35, offering added flexibility for the right candidate.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Provide accurate cost management and financial control on highways and infrastructure projects.
·Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities, cost plans, and tender documents.
·Evaluate tenders and contract documentation.
·Conduct regular site visits and liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective cost control.
·Ability to press groundworkers and contractors to get required results
·Manage project cash flow and report on financial status to senior management.
·Provide post-contract support, including preparation of final accounts.
·Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and construction standards.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
 
·A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
·Proven experience in the highways and infrastructure sectors.
·Strong understanding of NEC, JCT, or similar contract forms.
·Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, with a keen eye for detail.
·Strong negotiation and communication skills.
·Proficiency in relevant cost management software and tools.
·Membership of RICS, CIOB, or a similar professional body (desirable but not essential).
