Secretary Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional clerical and administrative support to fee earners, either independently or as part of a team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and professionals, ensuring friendly and professional service at all times.
  • Manage files accurately, using the firm’s case management system and relevant software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Coordinate diaries, book appointments, assist in meetings, and manage note-taking tasks.
  • Participate in marketing activities and help with firm-wide and departmental initiatives.
  • Ensure financial control by assisting with billing, collecting client funds, and closing files with accurate ledgers.
  • Respond to phone calls promptly and take thorough notes for follow-up by the appropriate staff member.
  • Take part in compliance training and maintain professional standards, reporting any required changes to partners.
  • Provide cover for colleagues during holidays or sickness and offer general office support as needed.
Secretary Requirements:
  • Strong administrative skills and experience supporting professionals in a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using case management systems.
