Support Worker for Children's Mental Health

Vision for Education are looking for Support Worker for Children's Mental Health to work in an SEMH (Social and Emotional Mental Health needs) school setting in Taunton.


The School and Role

A specialist school in Taunton are looking for a Support Worker for Children's Mental Health to support young people and children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This may include working with children who have suffered trauma, have struggled in a mainstream setting or are suffering with their mental health. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will be based inside the classroom supporting students within their education. Class sizes are small to ensure the needs of each pupil are met. You will be responsible for supporting their educational, social, and emotional development.


Requirements

The desired Support Worker for Children's Mental Health will:
• Have a caring, supportive and nurturing personality
• Have experience of working with those with social, emotional, or mental health needs
• Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
• Be someone who is patient, caring and adaptable to each young person you will support
