Reed in Partnership with a prestigious school is seeking a Pastoral Care Assistant to join our dedicated Health and Wellbeing team. The ideal candidate will provide essential pastoral and medical support to our pupils, ensuring their overall wellbeing in collaboration with the boarding house or the Medical Centre. This role is suited for someone who has a deep understanding and empathy for young people, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to various situations with reliability and warmth.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Deliver pastoral care and assistance to pupils, prioritising their health and wellbeing.
  • Communicate daily with the Housemaster/Housemistress and the School Nurse.
  • Discuss welfare matters with parents/guardians as needed.
  • Address the health and medical needs of pupils, including attending appointments and managing medication.
  • Maintain precise medical records and ensure confidentiality is upheld.
  • Support the House and School by performing additional tasks and duties as necessary.
  • Contribute to a positive and disciplined atmosphere within the House.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Well-organised, methodical, and capable of initiating work independently.
  • Previous experience in a school or medical/care environment is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to maintain composure and provide care under pressure.
  • Emotionally resilient with a caring disposition.
  • Competent in literacy and numeracy.
  • Must have a valid driving licence.
  • First Aid/Emergency First Aid knowledge is desirable.
  • Experienced in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Must meet the school’s employment checks, including DBS check and verification of the right to work in the UK.
