About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager to play a vital role in supporting both the team and individuals with a learning disability care provider. They provide a diverse range of needs, including autism, mental health conditions, Down syndrome, moderate learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Langdon Park consists of three connected houses, with a current team of one manager and six support workers providing care for nine individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of support workers.
- Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
- Oversee staff training, development, and performance (e.g., supervisions, probation management).
- Manage rotas effectively.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct weekly and monthly audits (finance, medication).
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Oversee medication management (ordering, storage, disposal).
- Support for Individuals:
- Provide day-to-day care, both at home and in the community.
- Promote personal development and independence through tailored activities (e.g., arts & crafts, gardening, swimming, social outings).
- Assist with personal care needs.
- Decision-Making:
- Use management data to make informed decisions.
- Foster a solution-focused and person-centred culture.
What You'll Bring

- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs.
- Supervisory or management experience (or willingness to train for it).
- A passion for providing person-centred support.
- Organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- A full manual driver's license is highly desirable.
