Osenka Recruitment is thrilled to be working alongside a highly established client in the MEICA industry, boasting over 20 years of expertise in delivering exceptional services to the water, wastewater utilities, food and beverage, brewing, chemical, and industrial sectors. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to take the lead in both the design and delivery of instrumentation, process systems, and system integration. The successful candidate will be confident working independently and collaboratively, with the ability to evaluate, design, and deploy complex systems.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work across a variety of projects, from tender stages to plant upgrades, full design and build operations, and commissioning. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you’ll be leading client discussions, translating technical challenges into practical solutions, and representing the company in both technical and managerial capacities.

Key Role and Responsibilities

The Electrical (Project) Engineer will play a key part in the projects design team and will be involved in a range of different projects from Tender Stage, Full Design, Build & Operate projects, Plant Upgrades and Maintenance measures, Commissioning and project Handover within the water/wastewater industry.

They would be able to lead discussions with the client and outline the issues or solutions as required. They will be able to explain these details in a simplified form to allow a diverse team to understand the issues and/or solutions. Further from they shall be able to generate detailed reports to the client’s systems, aid in the generation of work packages for electrical and system integrators to undertake and deliver the project. Once a subcontractor has been assigned to a project, the candidate will become the companies technical lead upon that project to aid the overall project manager.

The day-to-day requirements are as follows;

  • Carry out electrical design from initial concept through to detail design, including generation of Control Philosophies, Load Schedules, single line diagrams and Instrumentation equipment listings.
  • Reviews all documents produced internally and externally to ensure conformance with customer specifications and objectives.
  • Review of Electrical Panel general arrangements and Schematics
  • Support the Project Team in the selection and procurement of instrumentation
  • Develop work briefs for tender and appointment of Electrical Subcontractors.
  • Liaise with sub-contractors, site teams and support installation and commissioning where necessary.
  • Ensure the undertaking of testing is completed to company and client specifications and accurately documented.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation on design changes and requests.
  • Assist in the production and review of P&ID's, Building Services and General Arrangement Drawings.
  • Development of User Requirement Specifications and Control Philosophies

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • HND / Degree Qualified; Electrical, Electronic or similar
  • Strong Written and Verbal communication
  • Electrical instrumentation, control, and automation design
  • Ability to work unsupervised
