Location: TelfordRemuneration: £60-70,000 + Study support + 7.25% employer pension contribution, 23 holidays (increasing to 25), flexible working (37.5 hours/week, hybrid option), life assurance (4x salary)

Role Overview
As Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic support. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, your expertise will equip the leadership team with the insights needed to drive key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and fixed/variable cost analysis. Oversee the consolidation reporting for Group and adherence to monthly deadlines.
- Budget Management: Lead zero-based budgeting processes, forecast balance sheets, and manage cash flow planning.
- Business Partnering & Cost Control: Support plant management in continuous improvement (Kaizen), financial decision-making, and expense management.
- Audit & Compliance: Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and IAS standards, along with internal controls.
- Stock and Asset Management: Monitor and manage physical inventory, fixed assets, and stock valuation, supporting bi-annual stock takes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, such as Business Planning, AP/AR, and Senior Accountants, to support cross-functional efficiency and development.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualifications: Advanced-level study in CIMA (or equivalent); significant accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Office 365, particularly Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, macros). Previous experience with ERP systems.
- Manufacturing Insight: Experience in manufacturing finance or a deep understanding of industry requirements is desirable.
- Analytical Excellence: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and drive actionable insights.
