We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Shift Quality Technician to join a Tier 1 automotive supplier based in Telford. This position offers the chance to work on a 3-shift rotating schedule and be part of a high-performance team focused on driving quality improvements and tackling challenges head-on.

As a Shift Quality Technician, you'll play a vital role in collaborating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure successful PPAP completion and resolve any quality-related issues. You will also support program launches, engineering changes, and the Safe Launch Process, transitioning to the Plant Quality team during the launch phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts in supporting PPAP, program launches, engineering changes, and GP12 activities.
  • Conduct capability studies and gauge validation (MSA) to ensure top-notch product quality.
  • Review component drawings and perform dimensional studies on finished goods.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from NPI to production.
  • Adhere to CPMP and Business Protocols, ensuring documentation is always up to date.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, including Standard Work Instructions and Quality Alerts.
  • Conduct quality audits and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze and resolve internal and customer quality issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, and PPAP.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as die casting, metal forming, automated assembly, etc.
  • Experience with SAP or similar systems.
  • Understanding of IATF 16949 standards.

Desirable:

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • In-depth process knowledge in areas such as die casting, CNC, and assembly operations.
