About the class 1 HGV driver Role:
HireGiant are currently seeking experienced and reliable Class 1 HGV Driverto join our well-established, family-owned transport business in Telford. The role involves delivering a variety of goods across the UK, predominantly food products such as fresh salads and frozen foods. While the role is primarily day shifts, tramping (sleeping in the truck) opportunities are available for those who prefer it.

This is an ongoing role with regular shifts available. High-performing drivers who consistently meet expectations are likely to be rebooked for future shifts

Key Responsibilities of the class 1 HGV driver:

• Driving a Class 1 HGV across the UK, delivering goods such as fresh and frozen foods.
• Primarily day shifts, with flexibility to accommodate tramping if desired.
• Minimal handball involved, with some unloading required at RDC locations (though this is not frequent).
• Ensuring safe and timely deliveries with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Deliveries across various regions, ensuring the vehicle is maintained to a high standard.

Pay Rates:

• PAYE: 14 per hour
• LTD: 17 to 19 per hour (depending on experience and suitability)

Shifts and Hours of a class 1 HGV driver:

• Start time: Between 04:00 and 07:00, with flexibility for early or later starts based on your preference.
• Shift length: Typically 10 to 12 hours a day, Wednesday to Sunday.
• Weekend work: Wednesday to Sunday is our busiest period, while Monday and Tuesday tend to be quieter.

Requirements:

• Full C+E LGV licence.
• Previous large goods vehicle experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
• A good understanding of WTDand transport regulations.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent service.
