**Process Development Chemist required in Telford, Shropshire**

This esteemed company, a pioneer in manufacturing precision components for defence and aerospace applications, is seeking a passionate and skilled Process Development Chemist on a permanent basis.

This is working day shifts Monday to Friday (39 hours per week) and the role comes with an annual salary up to £40,000 per annum (DOE).

Candidates who have Product Development Chemist, New Product Development Chemist, Development Chemist, R&D Development Chemist or Metallurgist Development Engineer experience would also be well received.

**What You Will Do:**

  • Oversee laboratory activities, ensuring routine tests/analyses of samples and equipment calibration are conducted proficiently.
  • Monitor Process Control Plan results, adjusting chemistries to maintain specified control limits.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of chemical reactions involved in the process, maintaining a stable and safe process environment.
  • Utilise mass balance calculations for accurate dosing in etching machines.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health and safety within the laboratory.
  • Engage in R&D trials to refine existing processes or innovate new ones, collaborating closely with colleagues on continuous improvement projects.
  • Efficiently manage laboratory stock and inventory, ensuring resources are optimally utilised.

**What You Will Bring:**

  • A BSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, showcasing your strong foundation in the field.
  • Experience in COSHH assessment
  • Proven experience in Analytical Chemistry, with a flair for oxidation-reduction and acid-base reactions.
  • Proficiency in chemistry calculations and the ability to interpret experimental data.
  • Excellent communication skills, complemented by effective time management.
  • A desirable background of 3 years in a chemical laboratory environment, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of Metallurgy and Material Science - Preferred
