The Role

We are the largest independent galvanizer in the UK, looking to appoint a tenacious Business Development Manager to our growing team.

You will be responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer relationships and collaborating with our sales team to meet company targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing sales strategies to draw in potential buyers or to solicit new potential customers, achieving 50,000 tons of sales.
  • Initiating contact with potential customers through cold calling, visiting and research or responding to inquiries generated from advertisements.
  • Creating relationships with customers to identify their potential needs and qualify their interests and viability to drive sales.
  • Presenting product information to customers once you have identified their needs.
  • Moving solid leads through the marketing funnel, connecting them to a salesperson, and arranging in-person meetings, emails, or phone calls.
  • Following up with potential customers who expressed interest but did not purchase any goods or services.
  • Performing regular follow-up calls or emails and facilitating communication with new customers to ensure their satisfaction and identify new potential needs.
  • Collaborating with the Sales Manager to ensure the company's goals and targets are met.
  • Performing competitor analysis and share you with senior management team.

The Company

Corbetts the Galvanizers was founded in 1860 by Samuel Corbett, originally operating as an iron merchants and agricultural engineering company.

We are now the largest independent galvanizer in the UK, based centrally in Telford, Shropshire at our purpose-built facility, meaning that our extensive fleet can reach anywhere in the country with the minimum of fuss.

The Person

  • Proven work experience in a Sales team.
  • Hands on experience in sales and ability to deliver customer experience.
  • Understand sales performance metrics and CRM systems.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing/steel industry necessary.
  • Experience in the Galvanizing industry advantageous.
