If you have extensive experience with pension schemes and a strong track record in consultancy, this is a fantastic short-term opportunity to make a tangible impact.What’s the Project?Following a determination by the pension’s ombudsman, our client requires expert consultancy to ensure the effective operation of the Teachers’ Pensions Scheme. The focus is on teachers and tutors in adult learning with variable hours contracts, particularly in relation to the calculation of full-time equivalent salary for death in service benefits.You will also be tasked with reviewing the council's approach as a scheme employer, making sure that all returns, calculations, and administration processes are accurate and compliant.Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current processes related to teachers/tutors on variable hours contracts, including those at Surrey Arts.
  • Analyse calculation methods for full-time equivalent salaries, particularly regarding death in service benefits.
  • Review compliance with all relevant regulations and ensure accuracy in the council's returns and administrative processes.
  • Provide detailed recommendations to improve existing processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of your recommended changes, including training relevant staff on new practices.
