An opportunity has arisen for an Electronic/Electrical Engineer to join a leading manufacturer and full turn key supplier of automated solutions for the manufacturing sector, supplying high precision equipment to a rich variety of markets and sectors. You will be responsible for supporting the complete project build and delivery cycle, from in-house build up to commission and handover on a client’s site. This will include the set up full lines and interconnects between different machines to high standard and conforming to all necessary regs. The successful candidate will enjoy the autonomy of using their own drive and initiative to debug and problem solve any electrical, electronic or PLC issues identified during the build and delivery cycle, both at our client’s premises and in a wide variety of interesting customer sites and applications. What you’ll do as Electronic/Electrical Engineer:
  • Take ownership of the debugging and problem solving for any Electrical/Electronic or PLC issues during the entire build cycle from initial build to commission and handover. 
  • Debug any software issues identified, mainly focused on PLC programs, HMI’s etc.
  • Commission, debug and test of PLC/HMI/Safety system control software.
  • Configuration and start-up of all the devices at Customer Site.
  • Set up equipment to ensure all elements work together as per the client’s specification.
We’re looking for an Electronic/Electrical Engineer with:
  • Proven experience in a similar role in the manufacturing or engineering industry
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Excellent Electrical fault-finding skills
  • Competence reading electrical drawings
  • Strong IT skills (networking, fault finding)
  • Understanding of mechanical systems
  • Test and commissioning skills
  • Strong understanding PLC controls
  • Ability to use CAD to design electrical circuits.
  • UKCA / CE knowledge
  • Good understanding of line power drawings, panel drawing wiring and fault finding.
  • The ability to deal with different generations of technology and integrate where required.
  • The ability to access and debug PLC controls, computer controls, through I/O
  • The ability to understand and work with 3 phase power.
