Job Purpose:
Responsible for the detailed design of electrical control systems, ensuring high-quality and compliant solutions for a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Hardware Design Engineer:
- Conduct electrical site surveys.
- Design single-line diagrams for power, control, networking, and communications.
- Produce electrical schematics, cable schedules, and control/drive panel general arrangements.
- Create manufacturing, installation, and as-built documentation (as-tested, as-installed, and as-commissioned).
- Maintain the Technical Construction File related to electrical design.
- Perform calculations to support system design, including power sizing, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, and heat dissipation.
- Select and procure equipment/components in line with client specifications and internal preferences.
- Provide support for manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, client specifications, and internal standards.
- Meet project milestones and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum HND/Foundation Degree/Level 5 Apprenticeship in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of electrical control systems.
