Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join the dynamic surgical team at Princess Royal Hospital. The role involves providing expert perioperative care to patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the operating theatre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for orthopaedic surgeries.
  • Assist the surgical team by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless patient care.
  • Support junior staff and contribute to their development through mentorship.

Key Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC or NMC registration.
  • Proven experience in orthopaedic theatre settings as a scrub practitioner.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in orthopaedic surgery.
