Gi Group is looking for a FLT driver In Galvanizing company located in Telford. Job involves safely operating forklifts to move long steel, bring materials for the galvanizing process, and maintain a safe and tidy work.Working hours will be Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM (Shift times can be discussed during your application)PAY- 13.31£ p/h +40£ weekly for night shift. Responsibilities:* Safe Operation of Forklifts: The primary duty is to operate forklifts to transport steel and other materials across the galvanizing site, ensuring safety and efficiency. Up to 9 m long Steel and various other large loads. * Material Preparation: FLT drivers participate in preparing materials for the galvanizing process, which may include moving steel to the correct location or staging areas. * Loading and Unloading: Responsible for loading and unloading steel and other materials from vehicles and onto and from the galvanizing line.* Maintaining a Safe Work Environment: Keeping the work area clean, organised, and free of hazards is an important aspect of the role. * Routine Maintenance: Conducting routine checks on the forklift and reporting any issues is also a part of the job. * Collaborating with Colleagues and Company Systems: FLT drivers work closely with other galvanizing operatives and utilise company systems to ensure smooth operations. * Wear appropriate PPE at all times to ensure Health &Safety. Skills and Qualifications:* Possess a valid forklift license. (3year's +)* Experience in a manufacturing or galvanizing environment is necessary. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Confidence in loading/unloading long, heavy loads. * Excellent hand-eye coordination, peripheral vision, and spatial awareness.* Able to multitask.* Experience in carrying various loads of various sizes.
