Duties and Tasks
- Loading and unloading livestock, while applying best practice methods to avoid injury and undue stress to animals.
- Performing routine vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Maintaining logbooks and records.
- Drive defensively and handle hazardous road conditions.
- Couple and uncouple trailers.
- Perform pre- and mid-trip vehicle and security inspections.
- Carry out administrative duties, such as collecting fuel receipts, completing daily run sheets and pre-start checks.
- You will be expected to keep your vehicle and trailer in a good, clean condition.
- Completing wash and disinfection between each load.
Working Conditions
The work can involve long hours on the road, often in rural and remote areas, and can be physically demanding.
Role: Full time, Monday to Friday, hours vary between 6am-6pm, flexible to meet the demands of the business, with occasional Sunday working.
Licences required:Large Vehicle Category C, Preferred:Large Vehicle Category CE
Required:City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Transport of Animals by road
