Your new companyHays are working with a large manufacturing business based in Telford who are looking for Transport Administrator on a permanent basis. This is an exciting, fast-paced role working in a very friendly company with an opportunity for growth.Your new roleReporting into the Operations Manager your role will involve:

  • Manage and organize office files, documents, and records.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties in the office.
  • Operating the weighbridge, ensuring that all vehicles have been accurately weighed and that these weights reconcile to stock control records.
  • Planning workload for next day deliveries.
  • Responsible for all administrative duties relating to the transport operation.
  • Arranging vehicle inspections, MOT's and tachograph calibrations and checking all relevant paperwork.
  • Liaising with 3rd party maintenance providers.
  • Ensuring that the operation remains legally compliant.
  • Manage vehicle booking sheets.
  • Keeping all required records up to date and accurate regarding individual vehicles and types of materials entering and leaving the site.
  • Entering all incoming and outgoing materials onto the company database immediately.
  • Accurate and full reconciliation between weighbridge records, and stock control and loading/unloading records.
  • Work closely with accounts regarding invoices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proficient in using Excel and Word
  • Excellent written & communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
  • Familiarity with computerised systems for data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficiency in using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
