Job Title: Workshop ControllerLocation: Telford Salary: £28k - £32k +£5k/£7k Bonus Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm
We are recruiting for a Workshop Controller for an award-winning Main Dealership in the Telford area. This is a family owned business that has been operating in the area for nearly 50 years.
This is an excellent opporthnity to work with leading automoive brands in a well-equiped workshop and an expeirenced aftersales team.
Role of Workshop Controller:
As a Workshop Controller at this dealership, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their service department. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the workshop, managing a team of skilled technicians, and maintvaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
Workshop Management:
• Coordinate and prioritize daily workshop activities to optimize efficiency. • Allocate work to technicians based on skill levels and workload. • Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of all tasks
Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate a team of technicians to achieve individual and collective performance targets. • Provide guidance, training, and support to enhance the skills of workshop staff Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control:
• Ensure all work carried out meets manufacturer and dealership standards. • Conduct quality checks and inspections to guarantee customer satisfaction. • Address and resolve any customer concerns or complaints promptly.
Inventory and Resource Management:
• Manage workshop resources, including tools and equipment, to maintain operational efficiency. • Monitor and control the usage of parts and materials to minimize wastage. • Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure timely availability of required components.
Customer Service:
• Interact with customers to understand their service requirements. • Provide accurate and transparent cost estimates for repairs and services. • Communicate effectively with customers regarding the status of their vehicles.
Qualifications and Experience for Workshop Controller:
• Proven experience in a similar role within the automotive industry. • Strong leadership and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes. • Familiarity with dealership operations and customer service principles. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
