The Company

Seymour John is thrilled to be working with a well-established manufacturing business in Telford, to support with an exciting piece of recruitment within the IT department.

The Opportunity

This role will require you to drive digital initiatives to support business and ensure local IT demands and services are provided in collaboration with the group IT. You will be response for efficient operation, utilisation and development of information and communications technology within the business.

Responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Derive strategic IT and digital initiatives from business unit strategy in close cooperation with the group IT
  • Ensure a secure and stable operations, deployment and further development of BU-specific IT systems, IT services, IT-Infrastructure and IT processes, including (e.g.) local ERP-system (Microsoft Dynamics) and connected reporting systems; MES, E-shop, EDI ordering platforms and payment solutions in coordination with the respective business departments
  • Analysis of business processes and identification of process improvement based on software capabilities in line with business needs and demands aligned with Management
  • Development and implementation of new IT-systems based on demands of the Business in alignment with Global IT standards and processes
  • Responsible for the provision of local IT infrastructure & services including desktop applications, networks, IT security and telecommunications
  • Selection and control of internal and external IT service providers regarding performance and costs
  • Ensure and support successful implementation of IT projects and manage IT-related projects, meeting deadlines as requested.
  • Ensure best practice solutions are in place for the company’s systems in line with requirements and standard set by the business
  • Ensure compliance to global IT processes (such as demand and project portfolio management, etc.) and guidelines in business unit
  • Ensure the compliance with internal and external IT policies and regulatory requirements, as well as IT security and IT emergency management requirements, including disaster recovery plan
  • Align and harmonize business demands across the local entity
  • Responsible for the annual local (internal and external) IT budget.
  • Develop and monitor local company’s IT Helpdesk; monitor and align tickets with Group IT.
  • Co-ordinate and control the work of subordinates, ensuring adequate 'out of hours’ cover is available.
  • Management and supervision of all IT staff, including staff appraisals, setting objectives, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Ensure staff are trained in line with needs and requirements of the business
  • Carry out any reasonable task requested by management.

Personal Profile

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced IT Manager with strong team leadership and communication skills. You will have a high customer orientation with an ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

We are looking for candidates to have the below skills/experience:

  • Ideally educated to degree level in computing.
  • Proven experience of managing an IT department
  • Profound business process know-how and solution orientation
  • Project Management skills mandatory
  • SAP knowledge and Microsoft Dynamics knowledge mandatory
  • Knowledge of and experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience of process and systems procedural development.
  • Project Management qualification, PRINCE2, PMP or similar preferred
  • ITIL qualified or worked within ITIL environment
