Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Telford, UK Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM (37.5 hours/week, with a 30-minute unpaid break daily) Role Overview:Are you ready to take the lead in developing cutting-edge manufacturing processes? We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer with a background in high-pressure die casting, injection moulding, or similar technologies. You'll play a pivotal role in the advancement of technologies, including die casting, CNC, heat treatment, assembly, and automation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership
  • Develop concepts and specify equipment requirements.
  • Standardize documentation from concept to production.
  • Lead the creation and update of equipment Statements of Requirements (SORs).
  • Identify and verify new suppliers, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Oversee equipment procurement, installation, and major CAPEX projects.
  • Lean Manufacturing Optimization
  • Employ Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
  • Optimize product flow and implement Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Develop pre-production packaging for WIP and finished goods.
  • Project Management
  • Manage equipment project timelines and budgets.
  • Lead equipment testing and final acceptance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred).
  • Proven experience with die casting, injection moulding, or stamping within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Project management experience and FMEA process expertise.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.

Work Environment:
