Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

MDE are recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer for our client based in Telford. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience with plastic processing machinery such as injection moulding, IBM, ISBM (etc) as well as experience with Robotics and other ancillary systems, machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on injection moulding machines and other processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure machinery is operating at peak efficiency.
  • Work closely with the production team to optimise equipment performance and address any technical issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and provide technical support to enhance production processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with injection moulding machinery or similar plastics processing equipment.
  • Electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency breakdowns when necessary.
