About the Role:
Our client, a leading company in their sector, is seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Telford. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment by conducting both planned and reactive maintenance. You will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency, all while supporting the companys commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, actively promoting preventative maintenance and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  2. Perform planned and unplanned maintenance work to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  3. Utilize mechanical and electrical skills to carry out repairs as required.
  4. Diagnose machine faults and identify the causes of breakdowns.
  5. Collaborate with production teams to address maintenance issues effectively.
  6. Assist in procuring specialist fixtures, fittings, and components when needed.
  7. Manage and control maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
  8. Respond promptly to emergency and unforeseen repair needs.
  9. Carry out related duties as assigned, ensuring flexibility to meet the department's needs.
  10. Accurately complete and utilize the SAP system for daily maintenance reporting.
  11. Support ad hoc projects as directed by the Continuous Improvement Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Multi-skilled engineer with experience in both mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Strong diagnostic skills for identifying machine faults and breakdown causes.
  • Proficient in using maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing tools, equipment, and maintenance schedules.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with production and other internal teams.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement processes and methodologies.

Panama Shift Pattern:
This role follows a structured Panama Shift Pattern, consisting of:

  • 2 days on, followed by 2 days off, then 3 days on.
