Manufacturing Engineer
Location West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Telford, Shrewsbury, Stafford, Cannock areas)

Our client is a specialist manufacturer, supplying complex metallic products and assemblies for the automotive industry and this year promises to several key product launches, continued investment in the production facility and subsequent increase in volumes with further growth planned.
Job Description:
o Specification of production facilities and capital equipment and make recommendations for the selection of vendors equipment
o Implement improvements in manufacturing processes to optimise process performance and capability
o Lead CAPEX specification and facilitate project timing, approval process and budget
o Lead machine PFMEA process for major capital equipment
o Review and improve SOP/ process instructions, process flow, standard operations and capability
o Support New Product Development (NPI) initiatives and DFM/DFA
o Optimise process flow and minimise waste through use of VSM and lean manufacturing methods
Experience:
You will already be a competent Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineer or Engineering Manager with previous experience within high volume or large batch mechanical manufacturing background
o Time served or Graduate Mechanical in Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical subject
o Proven experience leading significant capital equipment (CAPEX) projects including specification, cost justification and vender management through to project buy off and successful NPI launch.
o Lead PFMEA process.
o Project management and supplier/ vendor liaison
o Experience of production processes and equipment utilised in plastic moulding, stamping, cold rolling, casting, forging, CNC machining or large automated / robotic assembly.
o Good communication skills for effective liaison and teamwork.
o Hands on approach with proven problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently.
o Willing to travel to meet suppliers are required
