Production Engineer required in Telford, Shropshire!!

Are you ready to take your engineering expertise to the next level? We are proud to be working with a long-standing manufacturing business in Telford to help them recruit an experienced Production Engineer to join their dynamic Product Engineering team.

This role is working a 39 hour working week (Monday to Friday), and it comes with an attractive annual salary up to £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

We are looking for someone who has come from a Plastics background and has experience within plastic injection moulding, die casting, pressing, and/or plastic (PVC) assembly.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate and report on the introduction of new products, ensuring seamless project completion alongside the centralized purchasing group.
  • Create, manage, and oversee project plans for all ongoing projects, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Analyse maintenance histories to improve moulds and support the quality department in meeting product specifications.
  • Develop strategies for the maintenance, replacement, and repair of tooling to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with suppliers to propose manufacturing process improvements and solve assembly problems, aiming for cost reduction and quality enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and information for the introduction of engineering changes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in project execution.

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven engineering experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection moulding, die casting, pressing, and assembly.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage tooling assets effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working closely with suppliers and internal teams to achieve project goals.
