We are proud to be recruiting for a thriving organisation who are going through an exciting phase in their existence. They are now at the point where their growth means they are looking to recruit an Operations Manager to lead the running of their assembly and warehouse teams ensuring all resources are in place to successfully deliver customer expectations and deliver some exciting change through the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience leading manufacturing / warehousing or engineering operations to take a position that will place them as a member of their management team in a thriving and growing organisation, which will offer a very real opportunity to progress into a Director role.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and driving the strategic plans for the operations function for both people and processes
  • Oversee and drive the operational functions of the business to include purchasing, manufacturing and logistics.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing the operations teams by delivering effective training, communications, appraisals, and opportunities for team members to contribute
  • Lead and drive improvements and process improvements to increase operational efficiency across the site
  • Ensuring customer forecasts/schedules are accurate and ensure resources for manufacturing are in place to achieve SLAs
  • Work with the SMT in relation to developing reporting systems and KPI objectives
  • Ensure labour planning and capacity planning is accurate to achieve customer plans
  • Working closely and developing strong relations with suppliers for services (manufacturing and distribution) to ensure cost and service effectiveness

Overview of the candidate

  • Previous experience leading an operational team either in a manufacturing, warehousing, or engineering environment
  • Strong leadership ability with an engaging nature and commercially savvy approach
  • Previous experience in digital/system transformation projects would be ideal
  • An ambitious and driven nature with the desire to progress iown career in tandem with business growth
  • A wide breadth of knowledge across planning, logistics, operations will be essential, additional engineering experience would be highly advantageous
  • A good multi-tasker with exceptional communication skills
  • Previous experience of managing stock flow, supplier schedules and controlling sub-contracted services would be ideal.
  • Previous experience in Operations Manager / General Manager / Production Manager / Logistics Manager / Supply Chain Manager type roles
