Electronics Design Engineerurgently required in Telford.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Design Manager and as part of the design team, you will be responsible for the design of new products as well as maintaining and upgrading existing products.
You will manage design projects from a technical perspective, cost, and product brief from conception to volume manufacture.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Produce practical, robust, and cost-effective electronic designs with appropriate documentation
- Schematic, PCB layout, mechanical and software design for the product
- Specification of microcontroller for embedded systems and programming in C
- Ensure full test and validation of the design to specification before release for manufacture
- Test and report for compliance to the relevant standards
- Create a production test solution
- Lead DFM and support NPI
- Work with Purchasing and suppliers so that designs can use the most appropriate cost effective technology
- Aid junior engineers to develop their skills
- Engineering support for other parts of the business as required
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in electronics.
- Experience in design for manufacturing environment.
- Experience of analogue and digital circuits and PCB layout.
- Programming in C for embedded design (Ideally STM32).
- Programming in Python to facilitate testing solutions.
- Practical experience of hand building & debugging prototype circuits
- Knowledge of the following would be desirable
- Programming VB/VBA
- LEDs for lighting applications
- Lighting controls and sensors
- SMPS
- Battery charging
- EMC
