We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance & Engineering Technician to support machinery breakdown repairs, maintenance, and the ongoing development of our manufacturing operations. This role involves a balance of mechanical work, troubleshooting, and process improvement, focusing on minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide reactive support for machinery breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance, with a focus on mechanical systems such as bearings, belts, chains, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Assess project requirements, drive projects to completion, and produce structured reports with solutions and progress updates.
  • Support plant and process efficiency improvements, ensuring safety and quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Develop and maintain workshop procedures, ensuring equipment and systems are in good working condition.
  • Liaise with suppliers to identify and implement optimal solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies at all times.
  • Measure the performance of mechanical components and processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong mechanical engineering skills, including experience with bearings, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, milling, turning, welding, and fault finding on older machinery.
  • Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens S7 and S5).
  • Ability to work with and maintain motors, drives, sensors, relays, inverters, and large-scale printing machines.
  • Proficient in reactive problem-solving with a focus on getting machinery up and running quickly.
  • Practical experience with conveyors and complex mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment.
