Job Title: Maintenance Project Engineer Location: Telford, UK Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: 37.5 hours per week, day shift Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Project Engineer to manage and support maintenance department projects. This role combines hands-on responsibilities with contractor management, requiring expertise in project management and electrical/mechanical installations. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while driving improvements in plant performance and safety. Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
  • Promote and adhere to HSE policies across the department and plant.
  • Drive initiatives to improve plant health and safety.
  • Ensure contractor RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) and permits are updated and followed.
  • Manage and lead projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Use project management tools to track progress and communicate updates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Execute projects that enhance plant KPIs (e.g., OEE).
  • Deliver value-for-money solutions with a focus on waste reduction.
  • Drive innovation and positively challenge the status quo.
  • Attend required training and adhere to company standards.
  • Provide training to stakeholders following project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:Essential:

  • Strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering or HNC in an engineering discipline.
  • Proven hands-on experience with installations and fabrication.
  • Project management and contractor control experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable:

  • Health and safety accreditations.
  • Experience with tier 1 automotive supply.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as die casting machines, furnaces, hydraulic presses, ABB robots, Siemens PLCs, and CNCs.
