Bridgnorth

Temporary / 2-3 months / possibility of becoming permanent

£15 - £20 per hour (depending on experience)

Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (flexi-time available)

Prince are working with a well-established manufacturing business based in Bridgnorth who are looking for a Buyer to join them on a temporary basis for a few months to support during some internal movement. There is also a possibility that it could become a permanent role. The Buyer will play a key role in supporting the business Procurement function.

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Identify, assess, and select suppliers to ensure high-quality and reliable service
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value
  • Oversee the purchasing process, including placing and managing purchase orders
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize performance
  • Address and resolve any supplier-related issues promptly and effectively
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with departments such as Maintenance and Operations to align purchasing decisions with business needs
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures
  • Verify vendor compliance with required accreditation certifications
  • Adhere to established Purchasing Policies, Procedures, and deadlines
  • Continuously develop skills and expertise through training programs
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and manage supplier relationships proactively
  • Ensure contractor services meet compliance standards and company requirements
  • Provide support to Engineering teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Resolve purchasing challenges, including late deliveries or incorrect orders
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with additional tasks as required

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing role
  • Strong Negotiation skills and experience in negotiating with suppliers
  • CIPS qualification would be ideal but not essential
