Demand Planner

Duration: Permanent
Salary:£30,000 - £40,000 Depending on experience

This role will be a key addition to the business at a critical stage in their growth. As the demand planner you will be working alongside the company buyer to support in the re-ordering of stock, managing inventory and ensuring effective buying decisions factoring in lead times and volumes. This role is going to be critical to the continuation of the businesss success, so you would be part of a valued team, with members who put their heart and soul into making sure their customers are wowed, whilst at the same time ensuring the organisation doesnt have unreasonable amounts of cash tied up in stock on the shelves.
What you will be getting involved in as the Demand Planner?
- You will be supporting the Buyer in forecasting, demand planning and ensuring purchase orders are raised with their global supplier base and manufacturers
- Youll be looking at and analysing sales data and trends and using this to guide your decisions around purchasing stock
- Making sure supplier issues are avoided, or if unavoidable are resolved quickly
- Expediting and de-expediting stock with suppliers based in the UK and abroad
- Monitor performance of stock items and adjust order levels accordingly, avoiding over-stocks of slow-moving lines
- Monitor key inventory metrics and identifying any scope for improvement
What experience will you need?
- You will have worked in a similar roles such as Demand planner / Inventory Planning / Buyer / Purchasing / Stock Control / Merchandising / Product planner / Supply Chain planner within either the distribution sector / retail or e-commerce sectors and have excellent knowledge of stock/inventory management processes
- If you know about international trading and have a grasp on UK/EU customs requirements, then that would be great
- You will need to be confident with using MS Excel and familiar with its data analysis features
- Previous experience on working with suppliers and managing the purchase order process along with a solutions and results driven approach
