Their supply planning team are critical to their success, so you would be part of a valued department, with members who put their heart and soul into making sure their customer isnt left without, at the same time ensuring the organisation doesnt have unreasonable amounts of cash tied up in stock on the shelves.

Supporting the Purchasing Manager, the Supply Chain / Inventory Planner will take overall responsibility for material forecasting, ordering, scheduling and other supply chain activities to ensure product availability to the end customer.

What you will be getting involved in as the Supply Planner?

  • You will be supporting the Purchasing Manager and other Supply Chain Team members in forecasting, demand planning and ensuring purchase orders are raised with their global supplier base and manufacturers
  • Youll be looking at sales data and using this to guide your decisions around purchasing stock
  • Making sure supplier issues are avoided, or if unavoidable are resolved quickly

What experience will you need?

  • You will have worked in a similar role within Inventory Planning / Purchasing / Stock Control / Materials Planning / Materials Control / Supply Chain within the distribution sector and have excellent knowledge of stock/inventory management processes.
  • If you are CIPS qualified then great, but if not then its not a deal-breaker.
  • If you know about international trading and have a grasp on UK/EU customs requirements, then that would be great.
  • You will also need to be confident with using MS Excel and familiar with its data analysis features
