QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER REQUIRED ON PERMANENT BASIS IN TELFORD

The Manufacturing Quality and Compliance Manager will oversee the assurance that all products meet the necessary quality and compliance standards in accordance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements. This role includes leading quality assurance initiatives, ensuring adherence to UK standards and regulations, and promoting continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage product inspections, testing, and audits to guarantee products meet or exceed established quality standards.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to address non-conformance issues, product defects, or customer complaints.
  • Ensure all products and processes comply with UK regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Stay informed of current regulatory requirements, including environmental, health, and safety standards, and ensure the organization meets all legal obligations.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies to keep certifications and approvals up to date, including managing audits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Define and enforce quality standards for suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet internal and customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure alignment with company quality objectives.
  • Collaborate with key suppliers to drive continuous quality improvement and address non-conformance issues promptly.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance product quality, minimize waste, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, to optimize processes.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Prepare for and manage external audits by certification bodies and regulatory agencies to maintain certifications (e.g., ISO, CE marking).
  • Collaborate with teams to address audit findings and implement corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
  • Design and deliver quality training programs to foster a culture of quality awareness across all organizational levels.
  • Provide training and guidance on compliance matters, including updates to regulations or customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality-related customer inquiries, ensuring clear communication and resolution of concerns.
  • Manage customer feedback and address complaints by implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular quality reviews with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Primarily based in a manufacturing environment with regular engagement with production teams and suppliers.
  • Occasional travel for supplier audits and customer visits may be required.
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, chemicals, and machinery

REQUIRED

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification (or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher) is preferred.:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a quality management or compliance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and standards such as ISO 9001, CE marking, and relevant UK legislation.
  • Proven experience in conducting internal and external audits, managing supplier quality, and resolving customer complaints
