Accounts Assistant

Telford

14-month Fixed Term Contract

37.5 hours per week (early finish on a Friday)

£23,500 - £24,500 per annum

We are working with a successful business based in Telford to look for an Accounts Assistant to cover a 14-month maternity leave cover. They are looking for a flexible team member who is happy to undertake various transactional accounts activities on both the sales and purchase ledger with other miscellaneous tasks to support the Finance Manager and the efficient running of the department.

Duties to include, but not exclusive to:

  • Sales ledger.
  • Run daily sales, merge and report to management.
  • Downloading of self-bills from customer portals and emails.
  • Matching of invoices to internal collection/delivery notes.
  • Data entry of customer self-bills to Excel.
  • Reconcile supplier remits to self-bill on Excel.
  • Scanning of dispatch paperwork self-bills.
  • Credit control.
  • Run purchase ledger, reconcile and check coding
  • Check accounts payable emails and print off invoices.
  • Print off relevant POs.
  • Match POs to invoices with delivery notes.
  • Scanning of purchase invoices and back up documents.
  • Reconcile Supplier Statements and chase missing invoices.
  • Prepare EOM payment runs.
  • Supplier queries and liaise with relevant departments if debit note required.
  • Holiday cover across the department.
  • Undertake any ad hoc duties required by Finance Manager to provide cover in other aspects of accounts.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will need previous experience of working in an accounts department and will be immediately available to start.
