The RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join our client in the Telford area. This long-term role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop practical, technical, and creative skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching design and technology, including product design, engineering, graphics, and materials, and will inspire students to think critically and creatively about solving real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics including product design, engineering, materials, and graphical design
  • Foster students' creativity and problem-solving abilities, encouraging practical and technical skill development
  • Prepare students for GCSE Design and Technology exams, supporting their academic progress
  • Assess and monitor student work, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
  • Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology department, sharing resources and best practices
  • Create a safe, well-managed learning environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment
  • Support students in developing a design portfolio, showcasing their skills and projects

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject
  • Strong subject knowledge in design, engineering, and technology disciplines
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting, including GCSE and A-Level
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • A passion for creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities
