About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people in their journey towards independence. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service, and promoting their personal development.
The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern with sleep-ins, so flexibility is essential. You will be part of a dedicated team, and we will provide full training and opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practical and emotional support to young people in our care.
- Support young people with daily living tasks, including personal care, budgeting, and cooking.
- Help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Promote independence and life skills development.
- Build trusting relationships with young people, encouraging their engagement in education, work, and social activities.
- Ensure young people are supported in meeting their individual care plans and achieving their goals.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support young people's progress.
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 12 months' experience in a children's residential care home or youth work. (Consideration will be given to experience working with adults in a similar setting.)
- Level 2 NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Applicants must be aged 21 or over.
- The right to work in the UK with no restrictions.
Desirable Requirements:
- A good understanding of Ofsted's Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards.
- A solid understanding of person-centred approaches.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
