About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people in their journey towards independence. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service, and promoting their personal development.

The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern with sleep-ins, so flexibility is essential. You will be part of a dedicated team, and we will provide full training and opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to young people in our care.
  • Support young people with daily living tasks, including personal care, budgeting, and cooking.
  • Help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Promote independence and life skills development.
  • Build trusting relationships with young people, encouraging their engagement in education, work, and social activities.
  • Ensure young people are supported in meeting their individual care plans and achieving their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support young people's progress.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in a children's residential care home or youth work. (Consideration will be given to experience working with adults in a similar setting.)
  • Level 2 NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over.
  • The right to work in the UK with no restrictions.

Desirable Requirements:

  • A good understanding of Ofsted's Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • A solid understanding of person-centred approaches.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
