Your new company
The company you'll be working for has a real passion to support service users, access new experiences, learn skills, become more confident and independent. They are a close net group of people who aim to give the service users personalised, safe and outcome-based support.
Your new role
Your main role as a support worker will be ensuring the safety and comfort of service users. You will be working in a children's, young adult and adult's home. The service users have a disability, and you'll be working closely with them and their families to provide support. Therefore, as well as carrying out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home, you should also encourage service users to have confidence and high self-esteem, but most importantly, for them to have fun. The current home is based in Telford. The home has 2 types of shifts which vary between 8:15 - 15:45 and 10:15 - 16:45. They do many different activities, such as bowling, food shopping, money management, swimming etc.
The shift times vary between 8:15 - 15:45 and 10:15 - 16:45.You will be working 3-4 days a week from Monday-Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 6 months experience in the last 2 years in similar settings- Training courses - willingness to undertake training if not- Experience and willingness to get involved and be a proactive member of the team, taking part in activities- Be passionate about supporting young adults and giving them the best chances- Excellent communication both with service users and staff
