Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of Children and Young People? Do you possess excellent interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Residential Support Worker for Children & Young People.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day care and support to young people in a residential setting.
  • Assist with developing and implementing personalised care plans, ensuring their emotional, physical, and social needs are met.
  • Support young people in building life skills, such as independence, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Foster positive relationships with young people, helping to build trust and promote their well-being.
  • Support young people with education, hobbies, and recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns or incidents in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
  • Support young people with life long skills, supporting with making appointments with outside agencies, budgeting, cooking, personal skills, hygiene practices.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a residential care setting.
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to promoting the well-being of young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with young people.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Understanding of Ofsted and their processes.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it if have a Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Driver with business insurance is essential or must be willing to travel on public transport.
  • Enhanced Adult and Child workforce DBS on the update service.
  • The successful applicant must have great communication skills to communicate effectively with a positive can-do attitude.

  • Knowledge of using IT equipment and being able to navigate around systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel.
