Opus people solutions on behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their Kinship Fostering Assessment team.

Location: Darby House, 2nd Floor, Wing C, Lawn Central, Telford, TF3 4JA
Full time - 37 hours
Pay rate: 30.57 per hour
Hybrid working - Mixture of office and home based
Length of assignment: 3 months in the first instance, renewed as needed

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for undertaking a variety of assessments within the kinship pathway, requiring a positive attitude and a focus on quality and analytical practice which evidences safe placements within children's networks.
  • Manage a complex case load of assessments, through both private and public law and have experience of producing high quality court reports.
  • Expected to deliver training and support to other services and applicants and carers, to develop more cohesive working, as well as being part of meetings and forums to raise to profile of kinship care, early referrals and seeking permanence for children within their networks.
  • The Kinship assessment team works closely and cooperatively with colleagues within the Kinship support team and Mainstream fostering teams as well as with Social Workers and managers from other Children's Services.
  • The work is interesting, often complex and challenging but is crucial to achieving placement stability and permanence for our children.
