Day Shifts: 8am-8pm OR 8am-6pm OR 10am-7pm

Waking Nights: 8pm-8am OR 9pm-8am

ProSkillz Recruitment LTD are recruiting Support Workers for both temporary and permanent positions for various shifts which includes evenings and weekends for a Mental Health and Learning Disabilities supported living service in Telford.

Our client specialises in supported accommodation for adults with Mental Health and Learning Disabilities who may also have additional needs.

Support Workers will be required to provide direct and day to day person-centred support for adults with Mental Health or learning disabilities, dual-diagnosis, and behaviours that can be challenging this position could also include support with personal care duties.

As part of your role, as a Support Worker you will be expected to carry out duties such as meal planning, activities, community support, along with any further daily living tasks required. You will be caring, compassionate, have a fantastic work ethic and be able to work on your own initiative, whilst following the support and care plans provided for the clients.

The Ideal Mental Health Support Worker will:

assist with activity preparation and co-ordination and support with delivery of activities for clients, in line with their assessment and support needs.

Act as a key worker for service users.

ensure all service users needs are being met, whether that being personal care, physical, emotional, cultural, social and cognitive.

Deliver support when required by clients.

Liaise with visitors and deal with general enquires and liaise with outside agencies when required.

Ensure medication is booked in/out and stored and administered in accordance within organisational policy and procedure and liaise with seniors for replacement medication.

Use Makaton, Deaf-Blind manual, and other communication methods to ensure the participation and involvement of all service users in the design and delivery of services (if not proficient in these skills, training will be provided and is mandatory)

Support managers to enable service users to attend external leisure activities etc.

teach personal, social and daily living skills to users

Qualifications:

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Preferred)

Suitable Applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and full employment history check prior to starting.
