For the successful PLC Programmer our client is offering;

  • Salary of up to £60,000 depending on experience
  • 8.30 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday, however, flexibility to working slightly different hours is required
  • Permanent position
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, an additional 5 services days on offer

The Role of the PLC Programmer:

  • Carrying out modification, fault finding and programming of PLC's
  • Support existing electrical, instrumentation and control systems and ensure requests for change/assistance are satisfied in accordance with existing standards to ensure production is maximised and all modifications are recorded/approved.
  • Recommend improvements or replacements which will improve reliability, safety or production through expert product knowledge
  • Liaising with various departments internally, ensuring machines are performing effectively/efficiently
  • Involvement in multiple projects at any given time, ensuring these are enhancing improvements within technology
  • Must demonstrate a pragmatic, insightful, and logical approach to problem solving and continually challenge traditional methods whilst constantly thinking about simplification, standardisation, and improvement
  • Provide technical leadership and programming expertise in a professional manner
  • Integration of technology within new & existing systems
  • Reduce repeated failures and create solutions to drive continuous improvement and minimise machinery downtime
  • Striving for continuous improvement & new developments

What our client is looking for in a PLC Programmer:

  • Educated to degree level in electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Knowledge of certain requirements regarding control systems, robotics, and human interface.
  • Work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with Continuous Improvement processes.
  • Knowledge of process and packaging machinery operation and process pipework systems, to complement the control system design and programming work
  • Experience of programming Siemens / Schneider PLC's
