As the primary consultant at TARA, I am currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to begin working within an established mainstream primary school in Shropshire, (Just outside Telford) on a full time basis.

The position is due to start after the summer break and will be an ongoing placement.

A supportive and friendly ethos, which is pivotal to the functioning of the school, is maintained through strong leadership and teaching. The Teaching assistant will be working with a child in Year 1, there may be some elements of personal care, i.e. changing nappies, as well as helping the childs focus towards work and helping to build more structure into their day.

To be successful for this position, you should be a dedicated and professional Specialist Support Assistant with a passion for special educational needs.

The School are keen to appoint someone who can assist full-time for at least the first term.

Applicants should meet the following criteria to apply:

  • Experience of working in either an Early Years or Key Stage 1 environment
  • The ability to be flexible and organised
  • A passion for assisting at primary level
  • Experience of working with Autistic Spectrum Disorders and ADHD
  • Experience of working with the SENDCO
  • Level 2 Diploma or higher – TA
