Our client, who are a market leader within the Transport and Logistics industry across Shropshire are looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join them at their Stafford Park, Telford site as aTransport Planner.
The successfulTransport Plannerwill be joining a fast growing, independent transportation company on Stafford Park, however may be required to travel to their site in Hortonwood, Telford for adhoc occurrences, so must be flexible.
Hours of Work:Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Duties will include:
- Plan and design national transport routes for a fleet of 16 HGVs
- Working in partnership with the Transport and Operations Manager
- Assess, map and communicate solutions to diversions and congestions to ensure delivery times are met
- Manage routes to maximise productivity of drivers ensuring costs are controlled
- Plan adhoc transport requests and adjustments
- Ensure schedules utilise drivers and vehicles on a daily basis
- Ensure all records are updates relevant to the movement of stock and materials
- Prepare and produce work sheets and delivery documentation for drivers, working with the administration team
- Manage drivers hours in line with legislation and WTD
- Responding to calls and email enquiries in a timely manner - particularly those relating to new and existing bookings
- Liaise with customers to provide accurate updates
- Calculate total transportation lead time and costings
- Collate delivery information relevant to internal and external parties
Previous experience working within a Transport Office is required in order to be successful in theTransport Plannerrole.
