Overview:

Reed Food & FMCG are seeking a Packing Manager to support daily operations of one of our fantastic clients.

As Packing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective packing and picking operations of high-quality products to support the online service, and also B2B sales. Your primary responsibility will be first line managing the staff and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the team being a main point of communication and co-ordination between operations, sales and customer service, whilst also providing hands on support to meet delivery targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the packing areas, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety guidelines are consistently met and that there is a focus on minimising waste and maximise opportunities around increasing the operating capacity
  • Supervise a small team of Packing Operatives, providing on-going training, guidance, and support to ensure high levels of performance and productivity
  • Ensure all food safety and quality standards of are at all time
  • Create, implement and maintain efficient operational procedures and work practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in the packing process
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Production, Sales, Logistics, Hygiene, Maintenance and Customer Service to ensure smooth operation and high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Ensure successful completion of all relevant packing reports
  • Ensure effective utilisation of labour, to ensure base line headcount is maintained considering sickness and holidays
  • Prepare and present regular reports on performance metrics, challenges, and achievements to senior management
  • Drive a culture of high performance, development and recognition. Manage capability and conduct issues as and when they arise.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the food industry
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and health and safety regulations
