The Burford Recruitment Company are recruiting on behalf of a busy and modern family who reside in the Tetbury area (GL8). Our clients are seeking an organised, proactive, and tech-savvy live-in House Manager. This multifaceted role involves managing household operations, supporting two teenage boys, and providing administrative assistance to a professional couple.
Key areas of responsibility
Administration
- Managing the family’s schedules using Microsoft Outlook.
- Organizing international travel.
- School app communications and household expenditure.
- Supporting the mother’s consultancy business administration as needed.
Childcare
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting academic success.
- Managing school runs and extracurricular activities (40-minute drive).
- Accompanying children to appointments and ensuring they are prepared for school activities.
Household Management
- Coordinating with the cleaner and handyman.
- Overseeing property cleanliness, maintenance, and seasonal changes.
- Managing contractor relations and obtaining quotes for services.
Cooking & Kitchen
- Planning and preparing 2-3 family meals per week.
- Grocery shopping and managing kitchen supplies.
Laundry & Wardrobe
- Managing family laundry and wardrobe organization.
- Packing assistance for family travel.
Vehicle Management
- Scheduling vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
- Driving duties as required (school runs, errands).
Pet Care
- Walking and caring for two miniature dachshunds.
- Pet sitting when required.
Requirements for the role
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and WhatsApp.
- Confident driver (rural and urban).
- Enhanced DBS check and checkable references.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Positive, energetic, and highly organised personality.
Additional Commitments:
- One overnight proxy parent duty per week.
- Two full weekend proxy parenting duties annually (agreed in advance).
- Approximately 45-50 hours per week with some flexibility required.
Compensation Package
- Salary: £45,000+ (dependent on experience).
- Pension contribution.
- Accommodation: Self-contained 2-bedroom annexe/cottage (all bills included).
