Inspection Team Leader

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inspection Team Leader to join their team. In this role, you will lead a small team of inspection personnel, ensuring that all inspections are conducted efficiently and to the highest standards. Your expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and gauging tools will be crucial in maintaining our quality control processes.

Inspection Team Leader Duties:

  • Lead and direct a small team of inspection personnel, providing workflow direction and setting priorities.
  • Attend planning meetings as needed to ensure inspection processes are aligned with production schedules.
  • Train team members in interpreting engineering drawings for inspection purposes, using CMMs or gauges as required.
  • Verify subcontract operations as specified by Works Orders (WOs).
  • Identify and record non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Generate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
  • Maintain gauge calibration and ensure all inspection equipment is in proper working order.

Inspection Team Leader Requirements:

  • Highly competent and experienced in using gauges and CMMs for inspection.
  • Proficient in CMM programming.
  • People management experience.
  • Excellent eye for detail and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in production inspection within a machine shop environment is essential.
  • Experience in aerospace and/or nuclear environments is highly desirable
  • Apprentice trained with a minimum of City and Guilds qualifications.
