Role:

My client is looking for a highly skilled and ATEX Certified Electrician to join their team. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in installing, maintaining, and inspecting electrical systems in potentially explosive atmospheres. The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical work complies with ATEX directives and UK safety regulations. In addition to the above, experience and knowledge of the installation, testing, and maintenance of fuel storage tank gauging and dispensing systems is also required.

•           Install, test, and maintain electrical systems in compliance with ATEX standards and UK regulations.

•           Perform detailed inspections and audits of electrical installations in hazardous areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.

•           Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems and equipment.

•           Provide technical advice and support on ATEX compliance and electrical safety.

•           Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including inspection reports and compliance certificates.

•           Conduct risk assessments and recommend preventive measures.

•           Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and safety officers to ensure all projects adhere to safety protocols.

•           Install, test, and maintain fuel tank gauges and fuel dispensers.

•           Ensure all installations comply with all regulatory standards as well as industry best practice standards.

•           Conduct site assessments and prepare installation sites according to safety requirements.

•           Troubleshoot and repair issues with fuel dispensing systems and tank gauging equipment.

 

Ideal Candidate:

•           Valid ATEX certification, such as Compex Ex07/08, with a strong understanding of ATEX directives and DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres                Regulations).

•           Qualified Electrician with an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.

•           Proven experience working in hazardous areas, particularly within the oil and gas or chemical sectors.

•           Deep knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards related to explosive atmospheres.

•           Familiarity with the latest industry practices, equipment, and technology.

•           Certification and Industry Qualifications for the installation and maintenance of fuel tank gauges and dispensers.

•           At least 3 years of experience in fuel system installations, particularly with fuel tank gauges and dispensers.

•           Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
