Location: Tewkesbury 

Salary: £26,000 DOE + live in accommodation 

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Stable Hand on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the feeding, grooming and overall care of the horses to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Develop and implement feeding schedules, vaccination protocols and deworming programs.
  • Monitor horses for signs of illness or injury and arrange for veterinary care when necessary.
  • Maintain and manage the stable facility, ensuring cleanliness, safety and functionality.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of barns, stables, fences, arenas and other equestrian facilities.
  • Manage supply inventory, including feed, bedding, tack and equipment.
  • Develop and implement protocols for manure management, manure disposal and pasture rotation.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of the footing in riding areas.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Extensive knowledge of horse care, nutrition, health and horsemanship.
  • Experience in stable management or a related field, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, staff and vendors.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of equine safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Certification in equine management or related fields is an advantage.
