Ensuring that operational processes are clearly defined, mapped, embedded and reviewed. Acting as a consultant and advisory service in order to deliver consistent sustainable improvement activities across the site.About Bensons for Beds

The Role - Continuous Improvement Leader

We are currently looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Leader to join our Logistics team at our Tewkesbury Distribution Centre. This may also be known as a process improvement leader but essentially is someone who can lead the site through various continuous improvement initiatives. Occasional travel may also be required. 

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Exemplifies the company’s values and behaviours
  • Regularly review all end to end processes with the operational teams to improve outcomes and mitigate risk
  • Implement and embed standardised ways of working, process controls and data capture
  • Leverage MI to drive continuous improvement, feeding back areas of improvement where required to improve systems
  • Identify and lead CI projects and opportunities for productivity improvement
  • Working with the Learning Leaders, provide CI training for site teams as required to help drive a CI and process driven culture
  • Working with Warehouse, Admin and Transport managers to identify areas in which increased efficiencies can be gained
  • Manage and report on CI project updates, savings and new initiatives
  • Encourage knowledge sharing across the business to accelerate improvements and benefits
  • Ensure consistency in the use of CI tools and systems across the Logistics Network
Skills needed

We are looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement Leader with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

  • Lean / Continuous improvement experience
  • Experience of facilitating lean workshops, process mapping and writing and implementing standard operating procedures
  • Use of MS Visio
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques e.g. DMAIC, Kaizen
  • Ability to carry out financial reviews for projects, assessing potential savings
  • Effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Consultative, respectful and professional approach, putting the customer at the heart of every process
  • Colleague focused, using structured and methodical working practices and effective communication skills to engage stakeholders and facilitate the change process.
  • Is highly organised, resourceful and uses initiative and determination to deliver projects successfully
